Steamboat with Luke the exchange student from Germany

Yup. Chris and I are bad shit crazy to take our 4 kids plus Luke the exchange student for Germany to Steamboat Springs for a long weekend. 5 kids... What where we thinking?

This is Luke, the exchange Student for Germany. The kid that is not Issiah.

We took off take after the boys high school tennis match around 8pm, so Luke didn't get to enjoy the beautiful mountain drive. Plus the roads in Germany are well lit (so Luke says), so I think he was a little scary of the dark mountain road.

We are saying at Club Wyndham, and of course they didn't have a 3 or 4 bedroom available so we got the 4 boys a room together and Chris, Athena, and I have a separate room. I'm sure they will get into trouble.

But on positive note, Luke was blown away with the morning view of the Mountains from his bedroom window.

Chris has a full work day today so I took the kids to Freshies for Breakfast. We had a great time, especially helping Luke order from the menu.

Luke never had a cinnamon roll or pancakes.

Kids spent the next couple hours walking around playing pokemon around the resort until Chris is done with work. They also went swimming in the "heated" outdoor pool, and froze their ass off.

Finally... we are out.

Steamboat Springs Main Street shopping, pokemon, fun, and dinner.

We have always said Athena likes an older man.

Hat shopping for Luke.

Dinner time. Treating Luke to an American hamburger, no fork or knife. This isn't our typical hamburger...             Back Door Grill

Donut Peanut Butter Hamburger Burger.

We ate so much food and yes, we are now eating ice cream. This is going to hurt.

Luke needed a picture with the Bear

Layden off in thought we Athena's boyfriend.

Yup. Layden's ice cream came out of the cone.

We all believe it Issiah's fault

Chris and I where so happy to get back to our place. I can blog and Chris can watch the Rookie. Yes they won and they are in the playoff.

Kids spent the evening at the club house playing hide n seek, pool, and just being crazy kids.

Day 2:

I woke up at 7am conflicted, Part of me wants to send Chris and the kids off and I'll stay and blog. And the other part of my wants to go make memories. I'm so close to being up to date with my blog, the only thing left is photos from Ryleigh's and Chris's phone... and 47 blogs to write.

Sounds lovely, to be lone and blogging all day with no one to redirect. I could blog all day, maybe even make a photo book for 2012. I'm only 7 years behind.

While contemplating my choice a Hot Balloon was right outside out place.

I made a great call and went with making memories. Chris and I could the kids to the base of Steamboat Spring ski mountain, took the gondola to the top for a hike down the mountain.

Ryleigh helping keeping the sidewalk clean

Found a couple areas to take pictures

Luke found a toy truck.

These two played Pokemon Go durning the walk but made time to get a picture for me.

We took the gondola up and hiked down the mountain, still a great work out.

Lukes first Gondola ride.

This was fun to it his action,

Fall. Makes for a beautiful hike.

If you know me at all this next part wont surprise you. For the first 1/2 mile of a 4 mile hike I took 500 pictures. But look how beautiful and my fucken kids don't all smile at the same time. So taking a good picture can be challenging.

Luke said this was the most beautiful hike he had ever taken, and this was the best picture I got of him.

Photo's from Chris's Photo

Athena took a good fall.

After the hike we took the gondola back up to eat. Although, the food sucks so we didn't eat and we came back down and went for Mexican food.

Kids needed food, then we spent the rest of the day at the resort. I worked of photo books and my blog. The kids ran around all night until 1:30 am. Swimming, playing pool, card games, fire pits and what ever else trouble they got in too.

Day 3:

Chris and I had a lovely morning. We went to a local book and coffee shop. Spent some time looking around the book shop while during our coffee. Found a gift for the kids tennis coach, meant a wonderful funny lady. She remind us of how awesome people can be. It was so refreshing.

Kids slept in but did hesitate to play tennis first thing. I'm sitting this one out with Layden and Athena. Their little bodies are not wanting anymore exercise.

Boys played singles and then all came together to play doubles. Had a great time in a beautiful location.

We were going to go to the Hot Spring but by the time the came back and we were really to take a 30 minutes drive we realized kids are not allowed after dark. So plans changed again. Athena and Layden's went to the movie, and I took the older boys shopping and then to dinner.

I love see post from the boys.

This was a great trip. Beautiful Colors.
