Tonsil and Adenoid Surgery
My poor Ryleigh
Even looking back at these picture I still tear up with the memories. Ryleigh had been getting sick for 3 to 4 day out of the week for months. The doctors and everyone else said I was over reacting about Ryleigh being sick so often. Finally, I was so fed up I took him into the hospital and stayed with him for 5 hours until they realize something was going on.
The doctor referred us to an ENT doctor, who had zero success looking into Ryleigh's throat because Ryleigh threw up on him every-time he tried. :)
We finally had some options and with those we chose surgery. We really didn't even know even if he needed his tonsils or adenoid removed. But it turns out Ryleigh's adenoids were so infected they were falling part. The doctor didn't know how Ryleigh could breath through his nose.
Ryleigh was really into How to Train Your Dragon
Prepping for Surgery
I am surprised we didn't get a bum shot here.
He was such a tropper, We walked through the process with him a couple times and he was okay with it. I think is was harder for Melissa and I to go through this than him.
He is web slinging....
Has no idea whats coming.
In case you were wondering the scale was in kilos.
Watching How to Train Your Dragon, again.
Daddy is getting really to go back with Ryleigh
Ryleigh loves his strawberry smelling mask. Sleep baby sleep
I can't explain how I was feeling at this moment.
Shortly after this moment. We walked back into the main surgery room. It was cold, very surreal and I kept talking to Ryleigh. I couldn't imagine how scared he was. I talked and joked and laughed with him. They got the drip line sorted, they moved Ryleigh moved from his bed to the surgery bed. He then got the oxygen and was asked to count to 10. I remember counting with him and he was out in seconds. I had never been so scared in my life right then and started crying. I just don't think we could do it again.
Ryleigh had a tough time waking up, he was seeing things, and crying uncontrollably They got Chris and I from the waiting room to see if we could hold him down. When we got to Ryleigh they had 5 nurses holding him down. I kissed him and held him until him came out of it, truing my best not to cry. It probably only took minutes for him to come out of it when Chris and I got there. I wanted to punch the nurses for not getting us sooner.
He was trying to rip out his IV.
Ryleigh could leave until he eats and drinks. Poor guy
Bathroom trip
He is so sad and in so much pain.
Break my heart. He had a lot of pain.
Being toothless from How to Train Your Dragon
Going home, where I will spend every second of the day for the next week by his side. Watching 'that' movie over and over agian, and sleeping together. I couldn't leave his side.
