Dear Athena,
One of the happiest days of my life was the day you were born, Valentine's Day 2007. So, your 8th birthday is this week Saturday and will always be important to me because it's the day I became your auntie. I certainly don't want to minimize your brother, Ryleigh, or Layden, but your birthday is especially specially special to me since you are the only girl child in our family.
Your birthday brought me to a place in my life where I became free to love with wild abandon, where I could run around like the liberated, adoring smitten auntie that I am. It is fun to love someone as much as I love you. I don't care who sees me kissing you all over at Walmart or gazing adoringly at you when I tuck your pretty hair behind your ear at the grocery store...I love all of my babies and you, my sweet, were the fourth child..the youngest in the family and will always be "my little princess".
I didn't know how to love like that until February 14, 2007.
Someday, you will find out that having a little girl in your life changes the way you look at the world. I say this because you have taken to telling everyone what you want to be when you grow up "Teacher". Which, of course, I love...but I want you..to be you!! Which will probably be a singer or a dancer...definitely anything you put your mind too.
So, this letter is to tell you that I love having you as the center of my universe, which is much, much more fun than before we had you. I love your little giggles, your endless kisses and hugs and that you love me sooo much and tell me that a thousand times a day.
So, on your birthday, we shall eat pancake and cake for breakfast, cake for lunch and cake and ice cream for dinner because it's your favorite. I love you more than anything on this earth and a gazillion times more to infinity and back..!! Happy 8th Birthday my little princess.
Love, Aunt Missy
Athena, you are so wonder even when you don't have a bike of your own there are no tears, you simply just want to spend time with us. Uncle Chris and I tried to trick by giving you Layden's old bike to you for your birthday, and your sweet big heart was happy. You didn't care about it being old or new, boyish or girlish.
But we had another surprise in mind. ... Your very own bike. Uncle and Aunty are so happy to be able to do this for you.
I sure you will remember the bike ride you went on right after getting you bike, uncle said you did a get job... he was so proud of you.
Taking these picture I was reminded of how you are growing up, and growing into a beautiful young lady,.
Uncle and I loving taking you to places you have never been, Joe Crab Shack seem like that perfect place for you... you love fish and dancing.
Even the boys wouldn't dance with you, uncle and I wouldn't miss a second watching you,,, so brave, full of beauty and spirit.
Every Princess desires flowers for her birthday.
Happy Birthday
