Chris wanted to take me to see the renovations made to Union Station in downtown Denver. I had never been there before, so I had nothing to compare the updates to. I was astonished at what I was missing out on. The area where Union Station is was super clean, nice people everywhere and not what I would have been expecting from a Train/Bus station in such an urban area.
This the new Terminal bar. If you look closely at the top right of this picture. You can see a really cool fifties style ice cream shop. We are going to take the boys here as a surprise next weekend. You can't see all the different table/chair sofa set ups but there is a lot of seating area. There are 2 shuffleboards, just a great place to lounge or study or do what we did. Grab a coffee and catchup.
We got our coffee, and waited to be seated for brunch at Snooze Union Station. I snapped this photo, to show my friend Kylie that I am still thinking about her and her family in Australia. We were able to get our coffees and sit in the Union Station lounge for 30 mins while waiting for our seats for brunch.
I was so happy to go to this cafe, I had never been there and it's right in Union Station. We ordered the Pot Pie, which was a light and fluffy pastry with rosemary white gravy and hashbrowns. We added a side of hog. Chris of course ordered a spicy bloody mary, we did split this.
Before we went to dinner, we went through 16th street mall and jumped in the children's walk for diabetes. And then off to IKEA and then to American Furniture and then home. We chilled out for a couple hours, took a nap and picked up the house. We were going to order dinner in, but where we live there isn't much that delivers. Chris suggested to go to our favorite local sushi restaurant named Sushi Tokoro. We got our same seat, our Sushi Chef and owner knows us and was happy to see us. I ordered my favorite, the catapillar role and spicy tuna roll. Chris got unagi and yellow tail. We then asked the chef for some new things. He suggested something called the Peterson roll. It was a gutted jalapeno with cream cheese, freshwater eal, crab meat and then deep fried tempura style then wrapped in seaweed and cut roll style. It was amazing, great blend of spicy and sweet tasting. Loved it and is now my new thing.
Here is our sushi chef, he is busy getting creative. Chris snapped this photo and showed him and he like it. Was a good photo, he was like it's black and white and is good.
